Centering Black Agency, Agenda, and Desire through Historical Research and Scholarship

What I’m Working On:

The world’s largest cave system, Mammoth Cave, stretches 426 miles through Western Kentucky and much of what we know and understand about the cave came from enslaved guides. While their history is well known, there is so much more to explore. Serving as co-principle investigator on this project, I am working to uncover the Black presence in this historic space from 1865-1941.
